The Pedagogical OrientationAn Argument for Improving InstructionJohn Lloyd, Oregon Research Institute, 1009 Patterson St., Eugene, Ore. 97403. Radical changes for special education are urged. The pedagogical argument is based upon the premise that learning is not a function of student characteristics, but rather, of teaching attributes. It is argued, therefore, that education should shift its focus from treating learning disabilities to improving teaching abilities. Some aspects of such a reorientation critical to its success are introduced and discussed.
