Problem Solving and the Learning Disabled: Looking for Answers with ComputersPeggy Healy Stearns is the District Computer Specialist for the Depew Public Schools and a doctoral student with a concentration in computer education at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is also Assistant Coordinator for the Software Evaluation Project at the University of Buffalo and the co-developer of a soon-to-be-marketed problem solving software program. Pertinent literature is integrated, serving as a basis for evaluating the programs. Although the software was generally successful in accomplishing its objectives, some recommendations are made as to how it might be better adapted to the specific needs of learning disabled students.
