John W. Klanderman, PhD, Chairman, School Psychology Department, National College of Education, 2840 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60201

This study examined correlations between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R), and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) for forty-four learning disabled children in primary and intermediate special classes. Factor analyses of the K-ABC and WISC-R were also conducted and compared to the factor structures found in previous studies. It was concluded that the Mental Processing and Achievement scales of the K-ABC correlate substantially with the Full Scale WISC-R and PPVT-R for this LD sample. However, this LD group processed material somewhat differently than the normative populations.
