Educational Therapy DefinedJohn Radecki is an Educational Therapist at The Learning Center in Encino, California. He received his Master's degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from California State, Northridge. Address: John Radecki, The Learning Center, 16944 Ventura Blvd., Encino, Calif. 91316. Educational therapy is an activity that ranges in practice from academic tutoring to psychotherapy. The qualifications, skills and techniques used by educational therapists seem so broad and varying that the profession seems difficult to define when compared to teaching or a particular school of psychotherapy. In an attempt to help specify the scope of educational therapy, this paper offers a definition of educational therapy. From this definition it is hoped that a discrete set of assumptions, goals, skills and techniques for educational therapy will emerge.
