Behavioral Intervention with Hyperactive ChildrenA ReviewWaisman Center on Mental Retardation and Human Development, University of Wisconsin, 2605 Marsh Lane, Madison, Wisc. 53706. This paper reviews behavioral (nonmedical) approaches for the management and treatment of the hyperactive child. A variety of approaches are discussed, including both those interventions which have and have not been systematically evaluated. A critique of the current state of research in this area is offered with suggestions for future investigations.
